Course overview and details
This is a course for teachers about how to implement interdisciplinary outdoor learning through arts. Outdoor learning is about the relationship between the pupil and the surrounding environments. Research show that sensory experiences increase memory capacity. Experiencing knowledge by activating the pupils’ senses is easily done in an outdoor environment. The course will raise European perspectives on outdoor learning through the active participation of course participants. Opportunities will be given to share and present best practices in outdoor learning during the course week. Participants will get inspiration to practically work outdoors in different places such as the city, in a park or in a forest. After the course participants will bring back several examples of exercises that can be implemented directly in the daily teaching syllabus/curriculum. Suitable clothing is required for the hours that the course is placed outdoors. NB! The outdoor course exercise will take place outdoors on several occasions irrespective of the weather conditions.
